THIS IS MY NEW GO TO RESIN FOR ALL OFF MY PRINTERS { I OWN AND RUN 4 } NOT ONLY FOR FUN BUT FOR PROTOTYPING

The end results are a very strong yet very slightly bendable finished article so its far from brittle so for my use at least its the perfect medium weather its at home for my hobby use or for prototyping for clients its superb

The details it captures are way up there with the most expensive resins with even the minutest details being captured

I have so far used it in a Mars 4 and 5 and in an anycubic 11 inch printer and all printers where set with the following perimeters giving superb results with not a single fail after 18 small prints from 1 inch tall to 10 inches tall
    UV SET AT 80 PERCENT
    ON TIME 3 SECONDS
6 BOTTOM LAYERS SET AT 50 SECONDS EACH
And one thing i have noticed IS ITS LITERALLY IN THE IPA FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE AND ITS SPOTLESS CLEAN AND BARELLY NEEDS A UV LIGHT BUT I DID BUT ONLY FOR 2 MINUTES

It really is the best all round resin that I have ever used in 7 years off resin printing and I WILL DEFFINATLY BE BUYING FAR MORE
    VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDED

This Photocentric polycarbonate-like resin is truly a fantastic product. It produces prints that are not only really sturdy but also have a high level of detail that looks incredible.

Now, it’s important to note that its exposure time is quite a bit higher than a standard or ABS-like resin. The manufacturer’s website confirms this, with a range of 3.4 to 10 seconds per layer. On my Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra, I found that dialling in 3.5 seconds for each layer and 35 seconds for the bottom layer gave excellent results. The longer print time is a small price to pay for the superior strength and detail you get.

For the high quality of the prints and the durability of the final models, it offers good value for the money. If you’re looking for a resin that can handle demanding projects and produce robust parts, this one is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

I ordered this resin to try as I’m always looking for the holy grail of resins. Different resins have different properties and you need to way up the pros and cons or each.

We have high detail, fast cure, ABS, and some resins have a little flex in them but can be susceptible to shrinking and so on.

This is the new Maker polycarbonate resin which is meant to be super tough with almost no shrinkage so it should be great for prints that have a job to do.

Personally 3D printing is purely a hobby and I print minitures and models but that does not mean they dont need to be strong.
I wargame on a tabletop with mine and they get knocked about alot and although I would love to just use the super high detail resins they are not always strong enough because they are brittle, so I usually use ABS-like which really works for me.
The data sheet on this resin does state almost no shrinkage though so I decided to give it a try as printing mutipart models can be a pain and I hate filling the gaps the finish suffers.

Firstly, I use a Elegoo saturn 4 16k with the heated resin vat so all temps were perfect at 30c, secondly I did a full exposure test to see how low I could get the exposure time down to.
This is important to me as the advised 7 to 8 second recommended time worried me as I like to be able to crack figures off fast, its why I bought one of the fastest printers on the market.

My usual print layer time is 2.6 to 2.8 secs on ABS-like, with this polycarbonate I have found it really does need a minimum of 4.5secs but better at 5secs, so each print is taking twice as long.

So is it worth the extra time ?
The best answer I can give is yes, but for specific things.

The detail on models is pin sharp. They feel good in the hand and take paint well.

I do feel they may be quite a bit stronger than ABS-like resins. Time is the issue though for me, but I will keep a bottle in as it does have its uses.

Overall this is a great product and a good solution to some challenges in printing.
I would happily recommend it to the community and in my opinion it’s fairly priced.

I hope you find my experiences helpful.

  4. DMG – Amazon User

    Pros
    Excellent Detail
Odour isn’t as bad as some resins
    Not as brittle as some
    Prints well at default settings
Tested on Saturn Ultra 16k, no issues

  5. PaulH – Amazon User

Decent resin which has worked well on a small test print on my cheap Geetech printer. Picked up the details nicely and seems pretty sturdy.

For me handling is the pain with resin and this stuff seems to pour well which is a big plus and it doesn’t smell too bad so I like it!
