Using LC Dental
1. Starting Print
Fill the Vat with correct resin.
Note: Always wear gloves when handling the resin
- Take your resin bottle, shake well for, roughly, 2 minutes and pour the contents into the vat.
- Immediately move the red hood into position over the printer.
Now you have set up your printer let’s make your very first print!
- On the touchscreen, press the Print button, which will display the print selection menu.
- Click to highlight the file and press Print, and it will immediately begin.
- Once the print job is completed, the platform will move back up to the home position (top of the linear rail) and you can start the cleaning process. (Refer to the cleaning section on this page)
Note: The software may take a few seconds to calculate the print duration. The correct print time will be calculated after the completion of the bottom layers.
2. Post Processing
Washing
1.Take off the platform. Move the hood back into position over the printer to protect the resin in the vat from light.
2. Wipe excess resin from the platform off with absorbent paper. Place the platform with part attached into your Photocentric Wash unit for 10-15 minutes. Or, spray the parts thoroughly with Photocentric Resin Cleaner.
3. You can rinse off small amounts of excess resin with hot water.
Note: High water pressure can damage delicate parts of the print.
4. Once cleaned, you shouldn’t be able to see any trace of uncured resin.
5. If you have access to an air compressor and air gun, you can dry your parts after cleaning. We recommend this for accurate parts to ensure all holes and pores are free of any traces of uncured resin.
3. Post Exposing & Removal Of Prints
Post Exposure
1. For post-exposure place the platform with prints into the Cure M+ for 60 minutes at 60C.
2. Check if the parts are tacky after this 60 mins, it may be beneficial to clean them again (if Wash unit was used this second wash should never be needed).
Removal of prints
After post-exposure the easiest removal is thermal shocking the parts off the platform. After the post-exposure cycle leaving the platform warm – hot, placing this under cold water will cause a difference in expansion/contraction of the parts and platform. This will lead to the parts almost popping off the platform.
4. Preparing For The Next Print
- To prepare for the next print job, clean the build platform with cleaning solvent e.g. IPA. Then scrape any cured resin off the build platform. Dry the platform using a dry cloth or tissue paper. If there is any cured resin in the holes of the platform, use a small screwdriver to force this resin out of the hole. If access to compressed air and air gun is available use this is clear the platform of the cured resin from the holes.
Note: If using tissue paper to clean be sure to check that none remains after drying the platform.
Now, your build platform is ready for your next print, with no extra adjustment.
2. Pour the remaining resin in the vat back into the bottle through the funnel using the filter paper provided. Filtering the resin is essential if there has been even a minor failure.
3. Use the vat cleaning tool to direct any excess down to the spout.
4. Place the vat on paper towels or a completely clear surface (to stop any piercing of the vat film) and mop up resin residue with absorbent paper. Then the film can be cleaned with tissue and a small amount of cleaning solvent.
5. Ensure you clean the vat thoroughly. Cured resin can easily pierce the vat film and adversely affect the homing of your next print. Ultimately you could damage the screen film and even your screen.
6. If you have a leak on the screen protector, please go to Troubleshooting section.
