3D Printing in the UK

Inventors of LCD 3D Printing

When it comes to 3D printing in the UK, Photocentric, located in Peterborough, invented LCD 3D printing and have been photopolymer experts since 2002.

We have been helping manufacturers with their 3D printing needs since we brought out our first 3D printer in 2016, since then we have taken 3D printing in the UK to a higher level. Releasing innovative technologies to reimagine the way companies are manufacturing across the globe.

The Evolution

Award Winning 3D Printing Technology

Since 2016 we have launched 9 different 3D printers in the UK and have developed printers for various industries during this time. All these printers have been designed, developed and manufactured here in the UK.

The technology we have developed has recieved a number of awards including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation 2020 along with a number of individual awards for the 3D Printers.

When it comes to 3D printing in the UK, we have applied our understanding of UV photopolymerisation to the visible part of the spectrum and combined it with the power of the LCD screen in 3D printing to become the world leaders in LCD 3D printing in the UK.

We offer both Daylight and UV materials for 3D printing in UK and are working on a number of sustainable resins to promote a greener option to manufacturing via 3D printing in the UK.

Manufacturers using Photocentric 3D printers in the UK

During the early stages of the COVID 19 pandemic, we used our 3D printers in the UK to manufacture millions of face shields for the NHS. Read the white paper on how our 3D Printers were used to scale up to this manufacturing challenge.

Our 3D printers have also been adopted by a number of UK businesses to manufacture products here in the UK. See how these companies have introduced our 3D printing technologies into their production lines.

Smilelign & S4S
Aligner Manufacturer

Smilelign and S4S are major players in the dental aligners in the UK. They had tried almost every manufacturer of 3D printers to meet their requirements for reliability before deciding upon Magna.

Opro
Mouthguard Manufacturer

Opro are the world’s largest custom mouthguard manufacturer, they needed to digitise their model manufacturing process so they switched over to Magna’s increased production and took cost out.

Staples and Vine
Model Manuacturer

Discover how military collectable manufacturer Staples & Vine overcame production challenges with the adoption of 3D printing.
